I’m doing final touch-ups on the PGM now. Drybrushing here and there and patching up paint chips. The grenade rack is the absolute last thing to be finished. I actually hand brushed the grenades and being a lousy painter, the paints a bit thick and uneven. The nice thing is though, the paint has a sorta effect that real-life ordinances have. They have a rough texture due to a fire-proofing coat. My grenades can be explained the same way Hahahaha
Splinter camo is very easy. It’s two shades of the same color with sharp-edged demarcations. Masking the sharp edges however aren’t so simple because of the round shapes that some parts come in. Anyway… there’s actually 3 shades of orange here. The darkest I use as a preshade, then I sprayed the lightest shade:

After the lightest shade has completely dried (which is superfast since I’m using Acrylic paint
), I added the splinter pattern with masking tape. There wasn’t any clear pattern with the way I did the masking except in making sure I got sharp edges.
Then I slapped on the middle shade:
