Detailed pics of the Cougar I from the Sega game Border Break is now up on Hobby Search. Again, it’s from Kotobukiya and surprisingly, it’s being priced at 3,500 yen, which is quite reasonable considering the ridiculous prices Kotobukiya charges for some of its stuff.
Damn… gotta get it!

Been away for awhile. Spending time with the family and getting back into airsoft. Anyway, upcoming interesting stuff. To me, anyway…
First up from Kotobukiya is a new line of mecha kits based on ‘Border Break’ (Wikipedia entry), an arcade game developed by Sega. First up is the Cougar I. It’s 1/35 scale and apparently, the frame is a universal frame Kotobukiya calls ‘Cross Frame’. More details should follow. The Cougar itself though, is very nicely designed. Being Kotobukiya though, doubt it’ll be cheap. Heh.
Colored pictures have also popped up for Bandai’s 50th Soul of Chogokin release. And it’s a redesigned Combattler V, which IIRC, was the first combining SOC in the line. The new design has a more anime-accurate vibe to it. 18,690yen and due in December. It’s actually quite nice. Pity I already have the original SOC. Damn, I hope they don’t keep doing this man. There are tons of other Super Robots that need to be done! Go-Lion, God Sigma, Daltanius and Albegas to name a few…
The Mecha
The RGM-79L GM Light Armor was developed for hit-and-run raids and serves as a fast attack unit for the Federation Forces. It mounts the minimum amount of armor giving it better acceleration and maneuverability. Most notable about this variant is the lack of armor on the shoulders and ankles.
The GM Light Armor carries a beam gun that’s similar to the RX-78-2 Gundam. It is more powerful than the GM’s standard beam spray gun but holds less shots. Many former pilots turned mobile suit pilots favor the GM Light Armor due to its similarity with fighter aircraft.
