I also like reading novels. I have been for quite awhile now too (since perhaps 12-13 years old). I read almost every night before I sleep. It’s my way of winding down. Lately though, having discovered:
- E-Book readers like Kobo Reader, iBooks and Stanza.
- Goodreads.com which is a social network for book readers
I’ve become quite a voracious reader (about 10 books in the last 2 months). It used to be that I wasn’t sure of the quality of books I see in bookstores so I tend to be more picky in what I read. But with goodreads.com, I can see reviews and have a better idea of whether I’ll invest my time in reading a particular book. With the E-Book readers, it’s much more convenient and I now have a lot more titles to choose from. No need to find space to stock the books either since everything is electronic.
And with E-Book readers installed my smartphone, I can basically read anywhere now.
I’ve added a Goodreads widget on the right side of this site which basically stores a database of all the books I’ve read since I can remember. If you explore it a bit, you’ll realize I’m actually quite a well rounded reader although I’m partial to Techno-Thrillers. The only reason Sci-Fi ranks so high in my database is because I used to read a lot of Star Wars and Battletech novels. Mispent youth.
