OutRun by SEGA

This sure brings back memories. I wasted a lot of time on this game whenever I’m back in Jakarta for my school holidays (at this time, arcade games were illegal in Singapore). I mean come on… it’s a convertible Ferrari Testarossa! With a blond chick riding shotgun! FWOOOOOH!

For the record, I could finish this game. My route was: left, left, left, left, left. If I remember correctly, the ending was the driver being tossed in the air and not coming back down… :D

I’m not just a modeling junkie/nerd…

I also like reading novels. I have been for quite awhile now too (since perhaps 12-13 years old). I read almost every night before I sleep. It’s my way of winding down. Lately though, having discovered:

  1. E-Book readers like Kobo Reader, iBooks and Stanza.
  2. Goodreads.com which is a social network for book readers

I’ve become quite a voracious reader (about 10 books in the last 2 months). It used to be that I wasn’t sure of the quality of books I see in bookstores so I tend to be more picky in what I read. But with goodreads.com, I can see reviews and have a better idea of whether I’ll invest my time in reading a particular book. With the E-Book readers, it’s much more convenient and I now have a lot more titles to choose from. No need to find space to stock the books either since everything is electronic. :D And with E-Book readers installed my smartphone, I can basically read anywhere now.

I’ve added a Goodreads widget on the right side of this site which basically stores a database of all the books I’ve read since I can remember. If you explore it a bit, you’ll realize I’m actually quite a well rounded reader although I’m partial to Techno-Thrillers. The only reason Sci-Fi ranks so high in my database is because I used to read a lot of Star Wars and Battletech novels. Mispent youth. :P

The All Very Newest New Teen Titans

So DC is going to reboot their whole comic universe (again and again and again). This time they’re planning to chuck aside what, for some of the characters, are 50 years of history to appeal to new readers. I don’t read much comics nowadays so I can’t really judge whether this is good or bad.

Artwork from the upcoming new titles have cropped up on the interweb and below is Jim Lee’s take on the new (all new, very new new) Teen Titans:

Methinks Jim Lee needs a new inker…

Time to throw away the Star Wars Prequels DVDs…

Since I found this… :D

All Super Sentai attack!

Being a Super Sentai fan, it DOES NOT get any better than this…

Well, perhaps if it were longer :D

Adobe Photoshop is 21!

I was first exposed to Adobe Photoshop when I took a summer computer graphics class in college. Version 3 if my memory serves me right. It was such a cool program. The biggest issue though is that it can only do ONE undo… so I ended up having to keep saving different versions of one file, just in case I made a mistake heh.

This year, it’s 21 years old.

Out of the programs I learned in the course (Photoshop, Illustrator and Quark Express), Photoshop is the only one I’m actively using. In fact, next to Microsoft Office, it’s the second oldest application I’ve been continuously using.

Photoshop has become so ubiquitous, to ‘photoshop’ has become a verb. And that says alot.

Black Widow Gone Wild

Toys are fun!

This is why I don’t read comics anymore…
