Bring on series 2!
Almost complete! I misread one of the barcodes and I ended up having an extra zombie. Heh… no complaints though…

Only the clown left and series 1 is complete!
With the news that series 1 is officially out of production, I think it’s time to quickly complete my collection
So now I have zombie (!!), mexican wrestler (luca libre!!), astronaut and ninja.

Now this series is basically follows the capsule toy approach. You buy a bag and it’s the luck of the draw that determines what figure you get. Which means the more already you have in the series, the chances of getting doubles, triples etc goes up. Gets expensive. VERY expensive.
Brickset to the rescue! Members have put up PDF crib-sheets, matching the barcodes on the packaging to each figure. I tried out the ‘rest of the world release’ and it works! So now I have Robot and Cowboy (who looks more like an adventurer ala Indiana Jones to me) in my collection. Heh.

To still retain some sort of randomness to this, I decided to randomly pick packs and use the crib-sheets to only make sure I don’t get repeats. So you know… there’s still the (sort of) element of not knowing what I’m getting.
Yeap! That’s right! I spotted them when I was out for lunch just now. And unlike what I’ve predicted when I first mentioned them, they aren’t USD 4.00! Closer to USD 2.80. Not too bad. Needless to say, I bought 3 packs immediately and I got the magician (who comes with an additional hairpiece), the scuba diver and a pleasant surprise, the crash test dummy!

These will be updated as I hoard… I mean collect them…
I’m surprised Lego didn’t think of this sooner! This is like the Japanese capsule toys, where you don’t know what you’re getting when you buy a pack. There’s 16 minifigures in this first wave and I really like the designs. Who would have thought you’d see a Lego zombie or crash test dummy?

In the US, these retail for USD 1.99 each, which means by the time it reaches my shores, it’ll be about USD 4.00… BAH…
